How to read wagering and bonus terms

Promotional credits and free spins come with conditions. This page explains the clauses you will meet most often on UK-licensed sites — without pitching any specific offer.

Wagering requirements

A wagering (or playthrough) requirement states how many times you must stake bonus funds — and sometimes the deposit — before any related balance can be withdrawn as cash. A “30x bonus” on a £20 bonus means £600 of qualifying stakes. That is arithmetic, not a prediction of profit.

Game weightings

Not every stake counts equally. Slots often contribute 100% toward wagering; table games and live dealer titles may contribute less or nothing. If live casino is your main interest — the spine of our comparisons — check the weighting table before you opt in, or you may clear almost none of the requirement.

Expiry windows

Bonuses and spins usually expire in days or weeks. Unused free spins vanish at the deadline. Wagering progress that misses the window is typically forfeited with the remaining bonus balance.

Max bet while wagering

Many offers cap the stake size allowed while a bonus is active. Exceeding that cap can void the promotion. The figure is buried in the terms; it is worth finding before you open a high-stakes table.

Eligibility & one-per-customer rules

Welcome packages are usually limited to new accounts, one per person/household/payment method as defined by the operator. Duplicate accounts risk closure under the operator’s rules and UKGC expectations around fair marketing.

Reminder: Jackpot Keystone does not create these offers. We describe patterns so you can read operator terms with clearer eyes. Always rely on the wording published by the licensed brand you join.

What to check before signing up

  1. Is the operator UKGC-licensed?
  2. What is the wagering multiple, and does it include the deposit?
  3. Which games contribute, especially live tables?
  4. How long do you have to complete wagering?
  5. Is there a max cashout on free spins or bonus wins?
